Scuttled Part Two

Continuing on from a now defunct project (atleast for me) Its a fine Line as to knowing what people want, to what they actually get. I try to sketchout Ideas on Paper using the description they give and then show them to clients. Using Bits and Pieces of what they Like while discarding any unwanted stuff and filling it with the new and continue with this until Eventually you have a character close to there vision.
However Sometimes you are expected to get it right first time, and this is hardly the case. Especially for Major Characters, while creating Extras a Much less Insignificant Character you have a lot more Room to Move.

Making a Cover

Remember the Perhapanauts Cover I did? It was the most detailed artwork I had done at that point and I Thought it only fair to share some pre-production work I did for it. Using mainly Steve Purcell and Jill Thompson as Inspiration I sketched out the main characters and then put them together across a page. Once they fit all nice and snuggly I then began the task of drawing it all in illustrator.

Sketch Session Tasmania

This Weekend Happens to be San-Diego Comic-Con and I'm not there for the SketchbookSession which I loved to be apart of last year met so many long time friends from the DrawingBoard and Myspace fantastic time.
So Me and Chris Downes got together to have an attempt at doing our own not much got done but we really had a Blast talking about the Tasmania Art Sub-Culture scene and the people that abuse us. I got to see Chris' Mural he designed and it was great to chat to someone with similar Artistic Tastes and hope to do it again with him sometime soon. As for where I have been around?? um......There will be announcement in about a weeks time it all seems very fitting and I'm very excited as to what will be happening.

Marvels in PrismaColor

Some Quick Sketches today, Back at Comic-Con Last year I was given some Fineliner Pen samples from PrismaColor. Which I only just recently found so decided to finally use them and get some usage. I actually really like them especially the Browny off Black. The other colour I have is a Green but it wasn't until much later I realised I should have drawn the Hulk in that Colour. Whoops!! Sorry Mr. Hulk Please Don't Smash Me!

Crazy Old Italian Guy!

I've been meaning to post this for weeks When I returned from Melbourne a month ago I caught the bus the next day into town to fix some horrible government thing and it took the long way around. It picked up this Grumpy old Italian Guy who was just telling everyone off and complaining. I have no idea what he was saying but he had a cane and started waving it around like he was gonna hit someone. He had such an amazing grumpy face I just had to pull out my sketchbook and draw it.

Girl Sketches

So as you know I often visit the park in Salamanca Place to doodle some drawings and get ideas. On wednesday however my usual sketch session turned into a Mugging and I was the mugged. I'm fine still a bit stressed out from the situation, I just realised how much Hobarts gotten unsafe. Anyway on to some art and some sketches of girls for you, hey its better than nothing.Any Likeness of persons living or dead is purely coincidental !! Honest!!

And as for the Latest Poll 'Scarlett Johansson' Tops the Poll WTF are you guys thinking ??? Jennifer Connelly is so muchy more Dishy!!! I suppose I'm lucky I didn't put Paris Hilton on there. Thanks too all those that voted, a New one will be up soon!!
